LaTeX references:
LaTeX is a program to help type mathematics. It is very heavily used in mathematics, computer science, physics and several other disciplines. All the documents that I have given you in class have been prepared in LaTeX. Below are some references that may help you typeset your own documents.

First you'll need some software though.
For windows: TeXnicCenter. You'll also need MiKTeX
Also for windows: WinEdt. Shareware, not completely free (but free to try until you get annoying "buy me" messages), you'll also need MiKTeX.
For Mac: Texshop.
For Linux etc: Go install a TeX base (for example, Texlive) via your systems software installation tools, and then use your favorite text editor (ie emacs). You can also use an editor desinged for LaTeX like Kile.
Here are some example files. You should be able to LaTeX these on anything without any trouble.
