Try visual studio code. vscode.
Try emacs. Some people like magit.
Trygitkandgit gui. You can access them fromxserver.math.utah.edu, orsudo apt install gitkon your ubuntu machine.
Try Github destop (mac and windows only).
Try interacting with git via ssh instead of https. Class activity. You can then clone the ssh repo instead of the https. You don't have to deal with tokens this way, but you do need to deal with ssh keys.
