About me
I am a professor at The University of Utah (I started in Fall 2014). Previously, I was at PSU and Michigan.
I study local behavior (singularities) and global behavior (such as vanishing theorems) in birational algebraic geometry in positive characteristic, characteristic zero, and increasingly mixed characteristic.
My work lies on the boundary between commutative algebra and algebraic geometry.
Site
This site contains my papers, teaching information, and other writing.
- Support for my research is provided by an NSF grant and a Simons Foundation Travel Support for Mathematicians award.
- I was PI for the RTG in Algebra, Geometry and Topology (2020-2025).
- I was previously part of FRG grants: FRG 2020-2024, and FRG 2013-2016.
